DNA Extraction

how to extract DNA from strawberries using household products (salt, soap, water). DNA extraction occurs through 3 steps: lysis, precipitation, purification. This technique can be used in forensic units within the police force and preventative medicine since it can be used for anything that contains cells since that is what houses DNA (plants, fruits, vegetables, bacteria, viruses, skin, blood, saliva etc). 2-3 strawberries, ½ cup of water, 1 coffee filter, ½ cup of rubbing alcohol, 1 clear cup, 1 tsp of salt, 2 tsp of detergent, 1 sandwich bag.
