What others say about us
This is what I hoped for in a science camp
I love these guys. You should enrol your child in one of their camps: you won't regret it and neither will your child.
We've tried a number of science-related activities in the GTA: camps at the Ontario Science Centre, Mad Science, one or two others that I can't remember the names of. What distinguishes Pueblo Science from all of these is that it's not just party tricks: it's real science. The instructors begin with a cool demonstration (or get the kids to do it), but that's followed by solid physical explanations, presented in a way that the kids understand and engage with. Kids are encouraged to come up with guesses for the phenomena they're seeing and then test those guesses.
The instructors are actual scientists or PhD students, not high school kids working an after-school gig. I was getting pretty fatigued by science camps and activities, and my kid was getting tired of making green goo over and over again. Pueblo Science was different, and we'll definitely sign up again.
It's a nice bonus that they're a non-profit where all the proceeds go to buying science kits for schools in the Philippines. But it's just a bonus - the quality of the programming is what wins it for me.
If you're considering this camp for your kid, do it.
I've learned a lot
I've learned a lot from this science camp especially that I'm going to teach for the first time Chemistry this school year. Hope Pueblo Science will continue to have this kind of camp. Very helpful for science teachers (like us) here in the Philippines.I've learned a lot from this science camp especially that I'm going to teach for the first time Chemistry this school year. The speakers were prepared for every activity which is enjoyable. They really discussed every part so that we learn a lot from them and I can use it in my class. Thank you and God bless, see you next year.
